A youth and very popular Christian hip-hop musician, the highly talented Moses Bliss, a product of mentorship, the same that Princess Ada Ogbu is out to present to the youths and young adults in Enugu East Senatorial District once dropped a “banger” entitled “Bigger Everyday”. This title best describes Princess Ada Ogbu, the heroine of the race to the Senatorial seat Enugu – East zone.
Princess Ada Ogbu has become the easiest name to appear on the lips of Ndi Enugu, even outside Enugu East Senatorial District, this lays credence to the fact that she has been about her dreams to offer a better representation to her people and set the standard higher for others. She has suddenly awakened the desire of the people of Enugu to ask questions about the tasteless and distasteful representations they have received over the past two decades.
Princess Ada Ogbu in her human nature has been going around town to engage real humans, her constituents and others alike on the need to expect and demand a better representation, especially from their elected leaders.
It is on record that she is a popular name on the tables of all the Radio and TV stations in Enugu State, including the NTA, where she has always stood to declare her passionate desire to provide a new and greater height of representation to Enugu East Senatorial zone and to Enugu at large, one that others can come up to meet and emulate.
She has been organizing town hall meetings and has toured all the area councils under Enugu East Senatorial District, which comprised about six local government area councils, including Nkanu Land, the single largest clan in Enugu State. She has taken up the challenge and has been tirelessly pursuing this dream of getting more to the people than far from them.
Ada Nkanu, Ada Nara Unataeze, as Princess Ada Ogbu is fondly called by many all over the state of Enugu rose from the grassroots and is bent on lifting others right from where she rose from. She has grown great faith in the capacity of the youths, and the invaluable worth of women, hence her quest to see them fully empowered. She has at different times reiterated the above stand, asking the two sets above to expect and demand better representation from their elected representatives for better representation. She has promised an open-door policy when elected and is asking the people to request the same of others.
Ada Nkanu is seen as always, (and the only one) to be as close to the people as she sees space. She has been sighted everywhere the opportunity of meeting her constituents presents itself. She feels the pains of her people.
She celebrated the youths of her constituency, and Enugu State at large reiterating her commitment to their welfare in the just-observed 2022 edition of the World Youths Day, where she extolled the ever-living and dogged spirit of ndi – Enugu, and indeed, the Nigerian youth.
Earlier in August, she was onsite to commiserate with her people and supporters who lost their shops and means of livelihood following the wanton and unwarranted destruction of shopping complexes at Kenyatta Market, Enugu, where it’s reported the lives of young people were put in jeopardy. Losing one’s means of survival coupled with the present economic crunch faced by all universally amounts to “double jeopardy”.
Following all these, her presence sends adrenaline down the system of the bad eggs masquerading as political leaders, who she has vowed to unsettle and dislodge to give the people breathing space. On the reverse, her appearance comes with an air of hope and happiness for the generality of Ndi Enugu, especially Ndi Enugu East Senatorial District, who see in her the goodwill that the serving and past representatives of the area have not given them. The people never demanded much, aside from good and physical representations.
Just recently, her presence at many Women’s August Meeting/Conferences organized by different women’s wings of many community town unions was greeted with loud roars of ululations, and encomiums, coming from women who see hope in her, and believe strongly in her promises of a better regime. One would have thought that a serving Governor, Senator, or appointee of government was entering these church auditoriums.
It’s on record that she is the most engaging aspirant, even outside her senatorial district, and among those vying for other positions.
Let us give it to her, let’s give it to Ada Nkanu, we must give it to Princess Ada Ogbu, she has set the bar higher than it used to be. She is growing “bigger every day” as one song says.
