Ahead of the preparations for 2023 governorship election in Enugu State, more support groups are being formed for the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Peter Mbah.
The recent group; Friends Initiative for Peter Mbah has its cell and units in all the 260 wards and 17 local government area of Enugu State with ward, local government and state executives.
The Uzo-Uwani Local Government chapter inaugurated it’s Exco on Friday, 23rd of September 2022 at the premier primary school Ukpabi Nimbo.
The event which attracted all the notable sons and daughters of the local government both home, abroad and major political office holders and stake holders of the council area was eventful and colorful.
Inaugurating the new executives, the grand patron of the group, HRH Igwe Godwin Okeke Arum (Anukenyi 1 of Mbulu Owo Kingdom in Nkanu East LGA) enjoined the council leadership to see their appointment as a call for service and ensure that the PDP candidate win in their local government.
He praised the local government for being outstanding in their resolve to ensure that Peter Mbah becomes the next governor of Enugu State.
The traditional ruler also assured them that Mbah, when he becomes the Governor, will not forget Uzo Uwani local government because like his own Nkanu East, the council is the least developed in the state, adding that the Guber Candidate understands the importance of the area to the development of the state.
“Uzo-Uwani is the food basket of Enugu State and Enugu will attain the status of an oil producing state because of Uzo-Uwani. You can be rest assured that Peter Mbah will be commencing work here and all of you that are labouring to achieve this dream won’t be forgotten.”
Other leaders that witnessed the inauguration include the state Coordinator, Hon. Cornelius O. Ede, Hon. Barr. Sunny Okoro who is the State legal adviser, Barr. Barth Ezea, the State Publicity Secretary and other Women mobilizers from other local government area in the state.
Hon. Anthony Chigbo, the Uzo-Uwani L G Coordinator in his address, said they understand that every politics is local and they’re ready to play the politics at the grassroot to deliver their candidate.
He assured that they’re ready for the task ahead and have a clear understanding of what to do, stressing that they have already hit the ground running and in the coming days, what they’re doing will be visible even to the blind.
He promised that Uzo Uwani will replicate their victories like in the past elections and deliver all PDP Candidates.
Those inaugurated in include: Hon. Chief Albert Eze, Deputy Coordinator, Charles Chiamago, Secretary. Hon. Dr. Romanus Ezike, Treasurer, Hon. James Ademu, Auditor, Comr. Eberechukwu Anigbogu Adabiafra, Women Mobilizer.
Others include Barr. Fred Chike, youth mobilizer, Barr. Melitus Nwabueze, legal adviser, Dr. Ernest Agbata, Ex-Officio, Hon. Peter Egwuatu, Assistant secretary, Alphonsus Ezugwu, PRO, Pastor Rex Ikechukwu Nnadi, Patron etc.
