Enugu chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has been thrown into mourning following the gruesome murder of Hon. Lucky Idoko, their youth leader in Igbo-Eze South local government area of the state.
Idoko was allegedly murdered in his hometown, Unadu community in Igbo-Eze south local government in broad day light on Saturday while going about his business on a motorbike.
Though details of his alleged assassination is still sketchy reports said Idoko who is also chairman of Vigilante group in his community was allegedly shot while the passenger he conveyed on his motorbike at the time of the attack escaped unhurt.
Commenting on the ugly incident, the immediate past Chairman of the party, Barr. Ben Nwoye said: “Honorable Lucky was a vibrant young man, a true progressive and a staunch believer in the Tinubu-Shettima Nigerian Project.”
Nwoye lamented that “this brings to three, the number of APC Youth Leaders that were killed by Unknown Gunmen this year. Several months ago Comrade Kevin Ezeoha and Hon. Chidera Ogaba were killed by Unknown Gunmen.
“May God save us here in Southeast from the hands of Unknown Gunmen.”
The APC Chieftain and a member of the advisory Council of Tinubu-Shettima campaign added that “In honour of Hon. Lucky, all Coordinators and Leaders of Tinubu-Shettima Support Groups are invited to Tinubu-Shettima Presidential Campaign Office Enugu State on Wednesday October 12, 2022 for prayer vigil. The previously scheduled inauguration of various Tinubu-Shettima Support Groups set for the same day will be scaled down in honour of our fallen colleague. Please remember the family of the deceased in your prayers.”
Also confirming the killing, the State Police Public Relations Officer, Daniel Ndukwe said that the command has launched an investigation to identify those behind the act.
“Yes, the command has launched an investigation into the case of the alleged shooting and murder of one Lucky Idoko ‘m’, at Unadu community of Igbo-Eze South LGA, in the afternoon hours of 08/10/2022, by yet-to-be-identified armed hoodlums.
“Further development will be communicated, please,” Ndukwe said.
In another development, unknown gunmen for the 3rd time, has attacked a meeting of the Labour Party in Enugu State.
The recent attack happened at Umuida, Ozzi ward 7, Igbo Eze North local government area of the state.
According to the footages being circulated online, vehicles and motorcycles parked by members of the party at the meeting venue were seen going up in flames as owners lamented.
