Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP), has disclosed that they will be suing the president Muhammadu Buhari led administration over its failure to name those responsible for stealing the nation’s crude oil.

The Nigeria National Petroleum Company, NNPC, last week, revealed that they have discovered a channel used in stealing the nation’s crude oil for the past 9 years.

To the chagrin of many Nigerians, the company knows the number of years the oil theft channel existed but doesn’t know those responsible for the incursions that have led to the loss of revenue in billions of Naira.

Thus, SERAP said they will be approaching the court to compel the Buhari to reveal names of those responsible and bring them to justice.

“We’re suing the Buhari administration over the discovery of illegal oil pipelines, to compel it to name those responsible for the plundering of the country’s oil wealth, bring them to justice, and recover the proceeds of crime,” SERAP tweeted on Sunday night.
