The Deputy Senate President, Sen. (Barr) Ovie Omo-Agege today described Dr. Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa as the “Judas Iscariot” of Delta State.
Sen. Omo-Agege made the assertion while speaking at the Flag off of the APC Presidential/Governorship campaign held at the Warri township stadium.
Sen. Omo-Agege told the APC Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu that the people of Delta State are hospitable.
“We don’t tolerate traitors. We don’t like treachery and we don’t like traitors.”
He noted that only Judas Iscariot was the traitor amongst the twelve disciples Jesus Christ had.
Sen. Omo-Agege described governor Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa is the Judas Iscariot in Southern Nigeria.
He said Governor Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa has engaged in an “ill-fated” adventure to become Vice President.
According to Sen. Omo-Agege, Governor Okowa has committed political suicide like Judas Iscariot who betrayed Jesus Christ his Master.
Sen. Omo-Agege called on governor Okowa to step down from the ticket of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Presidential Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
Sen. Omo-Agege pointed out that Delta State is in a state of “despair” and “destruct”.
He said Delta State is supposed to be one of the richest States in the Niger Delta. He added that with its natural endowment especially with the federation account , 13%derivation and others received, there’s nothing to show in commensurate order.
Sen. Omo-Agege pointed out that Warri has become the headquarters of Keke napep in Delta State.
He stressed that the people are suffering in the midst of plenty and they want the narrative to change.
Sen. Omo-Agege pointed out Governor Okowa is taking loans.”Delta is the most indebted State of all the States in the federation because of Okowa’s recklessness.
Sen. Omo-Agege further said that governor Okowa is bringing down his stooge who will continue from where he stopped. “Our people have rejected Okowa and his stooge.”
Sen. Omo-Agege formally presented himself forward to run and contest for the position of the governor in the State in 2023.
He said he presented himself because he has the experiences to become the next governor having served as Executive assistant to a former governor, Secretary to the Delta State Government and Deputy Senate President. He said he will bring his wealth of experience to bear to the service of the people of Delta State.
Sen. Omo-Agege boasted that as a Senator his impact has been adequately felt in all senatorial districts across the State including in Agbor where governor Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa hails from.
He thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for the assistance rendered to him thus far for providing for the people of the Delta State.
Sen. Omo-Agege appealed to the people of Delta State to vote enmass for APC Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the next president of the Country.
He said Asiwaju Tinubu will create employment and empowerment for the citizens if elected into office.
He said, he will reactivate the Warri and Koko ports and bring Delta back to it’s golden days where jobs will be created for its people.
He added that there will be a review of the privatization of the Delta Steel Company,DSC as well as full provide full implementation for the Nigeria Maritime University, NMU.
Sen. Omo-Agege also assured Deltans that the EPZ will come back to reality.
“We have our chance to get rid of the tyranny of the PDP” pointing out that the educational credentials of the PDP governorship candidate is challengeable. He concluded by saying the people should vote out the PDP from government.
Former APC Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole who described Sen. Omo-Agege as an articulate voice and dogged fighter said he is the next governor of Delta State.
Oshiomhole who spoke pidgin English language recalled that the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike said president Muhammadu Buhari has released to all Niger Delta States money which the Olusegun Obasanjo regime refused to dole out to them since 1999.
While noting that Edo State got 100billion naira from the money, Oshiomhole enjoined Deltans to ask Governor Okowa whom he described as a “hopeless vice presidential aspirant” if he heard what governor Wike said. He said Delta State got 250billion naira apart from the 13% derivation to the State and others.
According to him, Wike said the money he received, he has been using to construct flyovers in Rivers State.
He said Deltans should ask Okowa why he did not disclose or announced it apart from the 60billion refund of Federal road.
Oshiomhole also lambasted governor for failing to pensioneers their gratuities in the State.
He noted that governor who had agreed with other governors from the South-South region that power should be zoned to the region allegedly betrayed them by a ceoting to be vice president.
“If a man cannot stand on his words, what qualifies you to preside over Nigeria?”.
He pointed out that Governor Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa had followed Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to Kaduna where he allegedly said it will not be good to vote for Igbo man.
Oshiomhole who noted that Okowa is an Igbo man said,”Who call your papa fool, will you follow him? He did not say don’t vote Obi. He said don’t vote for Igbo person. What makes him good as a person?”
He also added that Atiku said the people should not vote for a Yoruba man.
He described Atiku as “ethnic jingoist” and asked the people to vote massively for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu saying he will transform Nigeria like he did to Lagos State when he was governor.
The Senate President, Sen. Ahmed Lawan in a remark expressed the belief that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is Nigeria’s next governor saying, he will develope the Warri and Koko ports in Delta State.
Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his part thanked the people for turning out in their numbers to receive him. He said they have shown love, and determination.
While noting that Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege as the next governor to develop the State, Asiwaju Tinubu said he will develope the Warri and Koko ports.
He urged the people work with him through Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege to Delta State.
