Gunmen have reportedly killed two operatives of Ebubeagu Security Network in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State capital.
They were shot dead at Ebebe junction, Ogbaga road Abakaliki on Friday night.
Details of the attack were still sketchy at press time but our source confirmed that the remains of the Ebubeagu personnel have been deposited at a mortuary in Abakaliki.
Ebubeagu, a creation of the South East Governors was set up to check the rising insecurity in the zone.
So far, only Ebonyi and Imo States have set up the outfit even with reservations and outcry from the opposition parties in both states complaining about their operation.
There have been allegations that they are used as a political tool but Government has denied such reports.
