Former secretary to Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal has said that the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu isn’t in the race for 2023 election.
Lawal who’s leading a group of Nothern Christians in APC with former speaker Yakubu Dogara had in a statement issued earlier, declared support for the candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi.
Appearing on Channels Television politics today, said he advised the former Lagos governor that a Muslim-Muslim Ticket will pitch him (Tinubu) against all the Christians in the North and beyond.
“APC Isn’t on this ballot. As I told my friend, before this ticket came up, the consequence is that every Christian in this country will feel slighted, not only the North, but every Christian all over the world will feel slighted and their religion insulted. You have also broken a known convention and some Christians will take it personal, so, you won’t get votes from some Christians.”
He want on to state that Tinubu has no experience in presidential contests and is relying on people that aren’t reliable. He said that Tinubu won’t get 25 in all the Hausa-Fulani states.
He asked where Tinubu intends to get the votes from because even in the South East, he stopped them from going there, saying that it’s a waste of time and money.
