Ahead of the 2023 governorship election in Enugu, undergraduate students in the state under the auspices of Peter Mbah Students Movement PMSM, have declared their support for the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party Party, Barr Peter Mbah.
The undergraduates stated this Tuesday, when they visited the Director General of the Peter Mbah Campaign Organisation, Chief Ikeje Asogwa.
The Director General of PMSM, Comrade Charles Edeh said the visit is to discuss their support for the Governorship candidate, his Deputy and other PDP Candidates.
Comr. Edeh thanked the Campaign DG for the audience given to the students which he said shows the premium placed on students in the state, while expressing confidence that under the administration of Peter Mbah, the educational sector will be given due attention.
Also in his speech, Comr Nnaemeka Nwodo, added that the visit was as a result of the hands of fellowship extended to the Students community in the state by the administration of H.E Rt. Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, CON.
He further submits that the students are fully involved in the electoral process that will produce the next administration which he said, they had commenced with adequate sensitization in all the campuses for PVC registration and the next phase is the campaign is to ensure Hon Barr Peter Mbah and Barr Ifeanyi Ossai occupy the lion building come 2023.
The secretary of the Students’ movement, Comr Nwobodo Chinonso said they’re satisfied with Mbah’s plan for the students as contained in his manifesto and they’re hopeful that the state educational system will be redefined to compete with that of the western world, thus the students are ready with their voters card to vote for Barr Peter Mbah.
He hailed the DG of the campaign Organization for his commitment towards the actualization of Peter Mbah ambition come 2023, adding that Chief Asogwa is a not a new name in the promotion of quality education in the state.
Continuing, Nwobodo said the good deeds of Asogwa can be seen in the transformation of the primary education in the state which they saw for themselves during their NANS primary school tour.
He assured that the students have decided not to be used as political thugs but rather be a part in deciding who governs them.
In his response, Chief Ikeje Asogwa expressed happiness over the students participation in legitimate electoral activities, while commending the love and support of the students for Hon Barr Peter Ndubuisi Mbah and their efforts so far in delivering the student community.
He assured them that as an organisation, they’re doing all within their power to ensure the PDP comes out victorious in the election, because they understand the seriousness of the job at hand.
He urged the Peter Mbah Students Movement PMSM leaders to continue with the good work, while encouraging them to keep on convincing their fellow students on the candidacy of Peter Mbah and all the PDP candidates across the state.
