Abia State Governor, His Excellency, Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, PhD, has approved the dissolution of the 17 Local Government Council Chairmen, their Deputies and the Councillors with immediate effect.
Their dissolution according to a Government Special Announcement signed by Barr. Chris Ezem, the Secretary to Abia State Government follows the expiration of their tenure.
Governor Ikpeazu thanked them for their services while directing the council Chairmen to hand over to the Head of Service of their various Local Government.
The announcement reads:
“Following the expiration of the tenure of the Executive Chairmen of the 17 Local Government Council, the Governor of Abia State, Dr Okezie Victor Ikpeazu has approved their dissolution.
“The Governor thank them for their services and wish them well in their future endeavors.
“The Governor further directs that they hand over to the Head of Service of their various Local Government Council.
“The dissolution takes immediate effect.”
