…as Governor Ugwuanyi donates four vehicles to students community, pledges total support to Enugu Students for Dr. Peter Mbah & Barr Ifeanyi Ossai

The Leaders of all indigenous and non-indigenous student organisations operating across all tertiary institutions in Enugu State, have gathered under the umbrella of Gburugburu Students Support Group (GSSG) on Friday, 23rd December, 2022, paid a solidarity visit to His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, CON.

Hon. Chidubem Henry Aroh, Publicity Secretary of the group while speaking to JOURNALIST101 on the outcome of the visit, said the students leaders unanimously agreed to channel their support, followership and solidarity which they have been giving to the Governor during his electioneering processes and administration to Barr. Peter Mbah, whom “we pray to become the next Governor of Enugu State, and his running mate, Barr. Ifeanyi Ossai. Hence, with the approval of His Excellency the Executive Governor of Enugu State, the structure has been collapsed into the PeterMbah Students Support Group – PSSG.

In his opening remark, the Enugu NANS Chairman, Comr. Emmanuel Ikechukwu informed the Governor that, they came to say “Thank you” to him for remaining the Most Students-Friendly Governor – MSFG; through his continual impact in the students community across all campuses in the state even in recent security and economic challenging times.

Similarly, Comrade Micheal Udeh of the Enugu State University of Science and Technology – ESUT, who spoke on behalf of Students Union Government (SUG) Presidents in the state, equally thanked the Governor for his giant strides in the educational sector, citing numerous state government interventions in many tertiary institutions in the state.

Speaking further, Comr. Udeh pleaded With His Excellency on the need to empower some of the various Student Unions with commuter vehicles inorder to aid their mobility as they discharge their basic duties and equally laundering the good image of Enugu State to the world.

In his own remarks, the Leader of the National Council of Enugu State Students – NACESS, the umbrella body of all indigenous Students of Enugu State across all tertiary institutions in Nigeria and Diaspora, who also doubles as the Enugu North Senatorial Zone Coordinator of PeterMbah Students Support Group – PSSG, Hon. Comr. Onah Joseph Onyemaechi, JP reaffirmed thier readiness to support him as he journey to the Red Chamber of the National Assembly, Abuja, while presenting over one thousand (1,000) campaign materials already printed in preparation for his Senatorial election campaign, adding that more materials are currently being produced for the same purpose.

Director General of PeterMbah Students Support Group – PSSG, who is also the Enugu State’s PDP Students Leader, Comrade Prince-will Ugwu, adored the Governor, stating that he is the only Governor who is constantly and cordially engaging all sectors comfortably, especially the students community.

He also hailed the Governor for bringing governance closer to the young and future leaders of Enugu State, adding that his accessibility as a Leader is second to none. He went further to intimate the Governor in details about the numerous activities of PSSG across the state which is geared towards landslide victory to PDP at the polls, come 2023 general elections.

Responding to the Students leaders, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi CON, stated that he should be the one thanking the students for thier tested and trusted support towards his administration over the years.

He also went further to share his students leadership experiences while he was studying at the Faculty of Business Administration, University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus and how God has taken him from one step to another till this very point.

Conclusively, he encouraged them, noting that as young Leaders, they should begin to polish and prepare themselves to accept challenges especially when given the opportunity to handle leadership positions.

Most importantly, he urged them to make God their first priority in everything they do. Saying “without prayer, in the life of a man, you’ll find it so difficult to Excel in your endeavours”.

Governor Ugwuanyi while endorsing the PeterMbah Students Support Group – PSSG, made a donation of four (4) vehicles to the Students Union Governments (SUGs) and Enugu Students Community.

The highlight of the End of the Year Meeting was the presentation of Campaign Materials and a Big Cow Gift to the Governor, in appreciation of all he has done for Enugu Students Community in the year 2022.

Aroh who’s also the spokesperson of PeterMbah Students Support Group (PSSG) said the visit was graced by the former global NANS President who is currently serving as Special Assistant to the Governor on Student Affairs; Hon. Comr. Chidi Ilogebe, his colleague and former SUG President of IMT Enugu, Hon. Amb. Mark Onuoha who is currently the National Speaker of NYAN, other leaders of the National Association of Nigerian Students – NANS, National Council of Enugu State Students – NACESS, PDP Students Wing, National Union of Nkanu Students – NUNS, Federated Association of Nsukka Students – FANS, Federation of Enugu West Students – FEWS, Students Union Government – SUG of all tertiary institutions in Enugu State, among many others.
