Ahead of the 2023 governorship election in Enugu, the members of Grow Enugu Agenda Project (GEAP), have continued to advance the message of the Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate, Dr. Peter Mbah across the length and breadth of the coal city State.
In continuation of their Townhall engagements to discuss Mbah’s Manifesto as it affects Human Capital Development, Job creation, Skill Acquisition, Private Sector Ecosystem Growth, amongst others, GEAP rounded off the year 2022 with a visit to Udi local government area of Enugu State, where they interacted with the youths and business communities on what incoming administration will bring to the table when elected.
Executive Member of Grow Enugu Agenda Project (GEAP) Hon Arinze Chilo-Offiah in his address, informed the participants about the readiness of Peter Mbah to change the narrative in the business community in Enugu State.
Chilo-Offiah who’s also the Special Adviser to Enugu State Government on SME charged the youths to explore the opportunities the centre provides to better their lives. He went further to encourage them to apply for grants and participate in the various programmes available.
He listed some of the programmes to include:
– Programming & Product Design;
– Hardware Tech (Solar Inverter & Electrical Installation);
– Auto Fabrication;
– Poultry Farming;
– Data Analytics;
– Construction Artisans Skills Training; and
– Advanced Poultry Farming (amongst others).
In his remarks at the Townhall meeting which took place in Udi Local Government Secretariat, the council chairman, Hon Nze Philip N. Okoh l advised the youths not to be discouraged by their days of little beginnings because most great businessmen/women “started from the scratch.
“The most important thing is the effort you put into the little things you started with or someone gave you. The amount of money isn’t the most important thing but the effort you put in is.”
He encouraged them to also support the election of Peter Mbah who in his manifesto, has promised to prioritise youth development.
Some of the participants seized the opportunity to apply for the various grants Enugu SME is providing with the support of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.
