With less than 10 days to the 2023 presidential election, six officials of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Tawa ward, Gombi Local Government area of Adamawa have dumped the party.
Adamawa is the home state of the presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar.
The officials are Halima Abdu (Vice Chairman), Mathew Hamman (Ex-officio), Jibrilla Mamudu (Ex-officio), Usman Umaru (Ex-Officio), Sani Nasiru (PRO) and Bello Tukur (Ex-officio) have since their letters of resignation to the Ward Chairman of Tawa.
The erstwhile members of the PDP said in the area has become a tool for few persons to pursue their personal agenda.
“We decided to leave based on the fact that PDP has become more of a group of few persons pursuing a personal agenda than a political party. The party objective is to bring disunity and political unrest.” they stated.
It’s not clear the party they’ll be declaring for but there are suggestions they might be joining the All Progressives Congress, APC in the state.
