The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Ebonyi State, Professor Bernard Ifeanyi Odoh, and his convoy came under yet another attack by thugs which clips sighted by JOURNALIST101 suggests are loyal to the ruling All Progressives Congress in the state.

According to the video clip, thugs driving in a Sienna Bus branded with the image of the APC Governorship Candidate, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbannaya Nwifuru barricaded the road and denied Prof. Odoh entry into Okposi, Ohaozora local government area, where he was going for campaign.

According to the clip, security agents attached to the Abia Governorship candidate made efforts to clear the road before gunshots started raining in the air.

Reacting to the development, Ebonyi State Chapter of APGA accused APC of being responsible for the Incessant attacks and called on the police to investigate the incident and “arrest the perpetrators of this evil act.”

A statement signed by Hon. Nwanchor Chibuike Nwanchor, APGA, Publicity Secretary, Ebonyi State, the party alleged that the gunshots were intended to kill their Governorship Candidate and this made so many supporters of their candidate sustaining various degrees of injury.

Nwanchor said the recent attack is a clear indication “that Ebonyi APC and the government of Ebonyi State are working very hard to create chaos and engender blood-letting in Ebonyi State having seen the handwriting on the wall that the people of Ebonyi State are staunch in their support for the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA in Ebonyi State.

“The Ebonyi APGA is a law-abiding, peace-loving party, we believe in the right of the people to freely choose their leaders and we are ready to exercise our democratic rights without any fear of molestation in any form.

“We wish to call Ebonyi APC to order as the party has become jittery over their impending loss in the forthcoming elections and has now decided to use the instrument of violence to truncate the elections. It has not been up to two weeks after they ambush Prof. Odoh, fired to kill him but succeeded in killing his driver and one other security personnel attached to him while others sustained other various degrees of injuries.

“Enough of the attack on the APGA governorship candidate, self-preservation is an inherent right of everyone and no one has a monopoly on violence.

“We call on the Inspector General of Police (IGP), the Director General of the Department of state security service(DSS), the National Security Adviser (NSA), and other security agencies to step in and stop this malevolent plans of the ruling APC government to truncate the electoral process in Ebonyi State and immediately investigate and arrest the perpetrators of the evils act.”
