Prince Gilbert Chikwado Chukwunta, a former Deputy State Chairman, APC Enugu State, former Deputy gubernatorial candidate of APC, in 2019 General Elections, on Sunday, led over 2,000 members of his party to declare their support for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the 2023 general election in the state.

Prince Chukwunta who at some point, acted as the chairman of the APC, made the declaration at a Enugu West zonal rally held at Awgu LG council headquarters.

Speaking at the rally, tagged, ‘Enugu West United for Barr. Peter Mbah/Barr. Ifeanyi Ossai 2023’, the former APC Chieftain said PDP is Enugu’s only hope for good governance.

Making away with their brooms, Chukwunta said their action is historic and the triumph of light and hope, adding that they decided to join the ruling party because of the good governance and massive infrastructure the state is enjoying under the party.

While hailing Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for the peace enjoyed in Enugu State, Chukwunta pledged to mobilize thousands of his supporters across the state to deliver block votes for Dr. Peter Mbah, the PDP governorship candidate and other standard bearers of the party in the state.

While receiving the former APC members to the PDP and handing over umbrella to them, the chairman of the party in the state, Hon. Augustine Nnamani, commended them for taking the right step and assuring that the party would give them all the privileges being enjoyed by members.

“You have foresight for the realization that it’s only the PDP that can continue to transform the state through its excellent policies.

“I want to appreciate you because you recognize that in Enugu, there’s peace and security, massive infrastructure, thriving environment and other dividends of democracy,” he said.

The chairman called on the people to take the message of hope and the tomorrow that is here to their constituents by delivering massive victory to the PDP in their wards during the elections.
