The All Progressives Congress (APC) vice presidential candidate, Kashim Shettima, arrived at his Shettimari polling unit 001 in the Lawan Bukar ward of the Maiduguri metropolis but could not vote due to the absence of election officials.
Mr Shettima arrived at the polling unit around 10:00 a.m. and met many other voters waiting for the arrival of election materials and officials.
The senator, accompanied by Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno, waited about 10 minutes before leaving.
The story is the same in various parts of the country as INEC officials arrived late. As at the time of this report, in some polling units, voting is yet to commence.
