The leadership of Ohaneze Ndigbo Youths Enugu State, has debunked the purported endorsement of the governorship candidate of the Labour Party, Chijioke Edeoga.
The group was reacting to a Facebook post by one Goodnews Igwe, suggesting that they’ve endorsed Edeoga for the March 11th governorship poll.
Nnamdi Odo, Youth Leader Ohaneze Ndigbo Youths Enugu State, in a rejoinder sent to JOURNALIST101, said the post is “perilous and a fabricated lies.”
He said the person responsible for the post, Barr. Goodnews Igwe was the former Secretary general of the youth wing of Ohaneze Ndigbo Youths Enugu state and the picture in question was taken during their courtesy visit to Edeoga when was still the Commissioner of Environment under Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi administration.
“I want to state categorically that Ohaneze Ndigbo Youths Enugu State under the leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Odo has not endorsed any candidate for any political positions.
“However, the picture that the poster used was taken when the executive of Ohaneze Ndigbo Youths payed a courtesy visit to Barr. Chijioke Edoga as the commissioner of Environment.
“I therefore, urge the general public to disregard the comments as we continue to work for a better Enugu State,” the statement reads. In part.
