The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has extended their lead to 9 local government areas after winning Enugu East Council.
PDP won with 12803 votes while Labour Party came a close second with 12404 votes, APGA scored 2779 votes.
However, in Udenu local government area, the Labour Party scored with 11315 votes to beat PDP that scored 10148 votes. APC garnered 514 votes while APGA got 412 votes.
The story is the same in Enugu North Local Government Area as Labour Party won with 9610 followed by PDP that polled 9333 votes. APGA and APC got 3108 and 563 votes each.
With this result, all the Local Government Areas has been called while PDP won in 9 LGAs, Labour won in 8.
The PDP won in Uzo-Uwani, Ezeagu, Aninri, Udi, Awgu, Nkanu East, Nkanu West, Enugu South and Enugu East Local Government Areas
However, Labour Party took Igboeze North, Igboeze South, Igboetiti, Oji River, Nsukka, Isi-Uzo, Udenu and Enugu North local government areas.
