In the most bizarre manner never seen before in the history of election anywhere in the world, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has declared the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, winner of the governorship election in Adamawa State after the supplementary poll.
The Independent National Electoral Commission has declared Senator Aisha Dahiru, popularly known as Binani, as the winner of the Adamawa Governorship election.
Barrister Hudu Yunusa, the Resident Electoral Commissioner instead of the Retuning Officer for the state declared Senator Aisha Dahiru, popularly known as Binani, as the winner of the Adamawa Governorship election without mentioning a single figure with which she won the election.
Results from 10 out of the 20 local government areas had been declared while the exercise was adjourned till 11am.
However, Ari out of the blues, came out and made the declaration an hour before the scheduled time.
Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was leading before the pronouncement was made.
Some PDP supporters in the hall had protested why the announcement was made by the REC instead of the returning officer.
