The Enugu SME Center has graduated first batch of youths trained on building of inverters, the installation of smart solar home systems, and the general operations and maintenance of power, mobility manufacturing, computer-controlled systems, and agricultural technologies.
The training codenamed; Enugu SME Hardware Garage Training (ESHG) was done in partnership with Hardware Garage; subsidiary of Greenage Technologies Limited
Speaking to JOURNALIST101, the Special Adviser to Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi on SMEs Development and Director General, Enugu SME Centre, Hon. Arinze Chilo-Offiah, said the Graduands are certified to play big in the different areas they trained for.
“They’ve been trained to become solar developers, while others were trained to design and fabricate professional Electronic equipment.
“The training lasted for four months and was a combination of both practical field and classroom experience. The training was in accordance to the Nigerian Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF).
“These individuals started their training with no prior experience in the Hardware Industry. All they had was their dedication and passion to learn and we were more than happy to hold their hands through this journey and after several months of hard work and rigorous planning, together we’ve been able to transform their zeal into a fully profitable career.”
He revealed that some of the students that indicates interest will be aided in getting a job.
He also expressed their gratitude to their partners for their dedication towards the programme while charging the Trainees to make the best out of what they’ve learnt.
“Our Appreciation goes to our partners, Hardware Garage who helped us actualize this dream.
“And we want all our fresh graduates to know how proud they have made us. We can’t wait to see all your accomplishment in the nearest future. It’s been a bliss going on this journey with you all.”
