Minister of Niger Delta Affairs Senator Godswill Akpabio

One of the Spokespersons of Atiku Abubakar’s Presidential Campaign; Daniel Bwala, has said that Senator Godswill Akpabio won’t be elected the president of the 10th Senate.

Akpabio, a former governor of Akwa-Ibom state is the preferred candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, for the position. The announcement hasn’t gone down well with some members of the The party that has vowed to challenge the party’s zoning arrangement for the leadership of the National Assembly.

In a tweet on Monday, Bwala said the cloud gathering against the “uncommon” Governor’s “aspiration is heavy and thick.”

He said the rejection of Akpabio isn’t about religion but a regional affair and also a revenge by various “foes” of the former Minister for Niger Delta.

“Godswill Akpabio would not be elected as Senate President. The cloud gathering against his aspiration is heavy and thick.

“It is not motivated by religion, but regional and as well as the revenge of the coalition of all foes.

“Most of the senators following him are not with him.”
