“It is my pleasure on behalf of the leaders of the 18 political parties in Enugu State under the umbrella of IPAC to formerly appreciate you our ebullient and sagacious State Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Ammani, fdc, the State Commissioner of Police, Enugu State Command for a job well accomplished before, during, and after the last 2023 general elections.
“Our collective delight stems from the fact that the police in our State manifested critical gallantry and professionalism in the discharge of its statutory responsibility according to the best international practices.
“The CP sir, we are grateful that under your leadership, we saw the police working in the interest of all political parties and their candidates for the peace and security of the entire State. The result of your dispassionate approach to security of lives and property made Enugu the safest and most peaceful among other States of the federation.
“Sir, your humility and wisdom by which you engaged us in a series of meetings ahead of the elections is quite commendable. Then your message that kept reminding us that we are brothers and sisters in Enugu State despite our different political alignments was very instructive. We say thank you sir.
“Thank you that under your leadership, the electoral will of the masses was freely expressed and not subverted as it used to be. Without any fear of contradiction we proclaim that the elections held in Enugu State were comparatively and substantially free, fair and credible. Once again we say thank you.”
Nze Alor encouraged CP Ammani to “remain steadfast in your discharge of the onerous task of securing Enugu State. We as Chairmen of political parties shall remain law-abiding and equally cooperate with you for the full realization of your lofty security goals.”
In his response, the elated Police Chief said the success before, during and after the elections can’t be attributed to the security agencies alone as they (political parties) played a crucial role in ensuring the entire process was peaceful.
CP Ammani said his biggest happiness which formed a prayer point for him was that no life was lost during the electioneering period.
“We collaborated together, you listened and worked with the security agencies to build a peaceful Enugu State.
“We didn’t lose any life, that was my prayer and I thanked God for that.”
He appealed to them continue to collaborate with the security agencies for the development of Enugu State.
