Chizitere Care Foundation; a non-Governmental Organisation (NGO); in commemoration of this year’s children’s day, feted over 100 less privileged kids in Enugu State.
The funfair which the organisation tagged “Feed A Child” attracted children from different parts of Enugu was fun-filled as it featured dancing, football and other side attractions.q
In her address, the founder of Chizitere Care Foundation, Barr. Bonita Oneh, said the event is an annual charity programme of the organization aimed at creating an avenue for vulnerable children to have fun, make merry and eat at no cost to them.
According to Oneh, it is usually held in rural areas, targeting specifically, the needy and underprivileged members of the society.
She called on the incoming government of Dr. Peter Mbah in Enugu State to give children needs priority once he takes over office.
“Our objective is to curb depression and it’s accompanying ailments through psychosocial support.
“We sponsor businesses for women undergoing counseling and organise events to help ease off mental stress and curb depression.
“Our ‘Feed a Child, initiative is an annual Charity event held on Children’s day as a means to feed and entertain the less privileged children while we celebrate them.
“We preach happiness and prioritise good mental health,” She said.
Chizitere Care Foundation is a nonprofit organisation, which offers various forms of support to indigent children, such as psychosocial support, free counselling, legal consultations, free business set ups and sponsorships.
