National Guild of Radio Managers (Private) have congratulated the Enugu State Governor, His Excellency, Barr. Peter Mbah and his Deputy, Barr. Ifeanyi Ossai

The guild in a press statement issued by their National President, Amb. Patrick Uzoyi-Peters JP, said their history won’t be complete without Enugu State.

They also charged the Governor to place professionalism first in the appointment of his Aides, while expressing confidence that the relationship established with the former Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi will be cemented with his (Mbah’s) administration.

The statement reads:

On behalf of the National Executive Committee, the National Executive Council, the Board of Trustees, Board of Advisers and the entire membership of the National Guild of Radio Managers (Private), we wish to convey our hearty congratulations and we’ll wishes to His Excellencies Barr.(Dr.) Peter Ndubuisi Mbah and Barr. Ifeanyi Ossai on their successful, historic and epoch making inauguration as Executive Governor and Deputy Governor of Enugu State.

Enugu State will forever hold a pride of place and enormously more than a footnote in the annals of the history of the Guild owing to the fact that though the idea of setting up a body of this nature, magnitude and objective was birthed in Ibadan, Oyo State, the very lifeblood and physical manifestation of the concept was mid-wifed here in Enugu. It was in Enugu, through the instrumentality of your predecessor – Rt.Hon (Dr.) Ifeanyi Lawrence Ugwuanyi that the now national body found a birthing place.

Yes Sir! We make bold to say that like the biblical story of Christ’s immaculate birth; the manger is to the story of Jesus’ ministry as Enugu is to the Guild’s. Enugu is our manger and remains so and forever holds sentimental value to the Guild. For this cause Sir, the Guild takes Enugu as it’s birth home (even though by convention, our National HQ is based in Abuja) and it’s concerns, it’s leadership will always take pride of place for us. This is also the reason your esteemed predecessor Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi was vested with the honorary title of National Patron, a national honour which has been set aside for all present and future occupiers of the Lion Building.

Please be assured of our unalloyed commitment, support and partnership as well as the backing of the leadership structures of over 500 privately owned Radio Stations across Nigeria.

We are well aware of your deep appreciation and regard for the Media as evidenced throughout your Governorships campaigns and we encourage that you draw us (the Media) closer in your administration as a key partner in progress. We also wish to appreciate you for having a strong media personality in the person of Dan Nwomeh who will through his deep wealth of experience in the Print and broadcast sectors help to bring Government and the media closer together.

In closing Your Excellencies, as you make your appointments and name your cabinets, we will encourage that you fit the appropriate professionals in the commensurate positions, an action we are confident you will expertly execute, considering your amazing feats in the private sector. We ask that you pay special attention to your Information and Communication portfolios as well as public affairs positions and pick top flight industry players, competent, deeply rooted and vastly spread. Individuals who will communicate effectively; your plans, projects and programmes.

We look forward to cementing the already established relationship forged with your predecessor and pray that this transition will mark the best for Enugu state. We are hopeful in seeking an audience with you Sirs on a Courtesy visit, one of many we hope.

Once again, accept our hearty congratulations as you bring Enugu closer to the Tomorrow it’s been yearning for.
