The Police Campaign Against Cultism And Other Vices have taken the fight against cultism to the Federal Capital Territory by engaging the Students of Police Basic Secondary School Garki Abuja, on POCACOV Inspire Activity.
The engagement which took place on the 21st of June had in attendance, no fewer than two hundred students and featured different activities.
According to the National Coordinator POCACOV, CSP Ebere Amaraizu, the ‘POCACOV inspire’ is a community driven activity under ‘POCACOV in my school’ which is Targeted at children and young persons to help create life changing opportunities amongst them and to help build confidence, expose them to critical thinking as well as strengthening resilience, positive coping skills.
He said the idea which is under PREVENT policing framework, will contribute in discouraging the possible recruitment and entrants, of our young ones into unlawful societies (Cultism), Organized Criminal Groups (OCGs).
The Commandant of the school SP, Gloria Apeh appreciated Nigeria police Force for the POCACOV initiative and it’s firm resolve towards cutting the supply chains and conveyor belts and urged the National Coordinator POCACOV not to “relent in the ongoing move for our children to thrive for a functional community.”
POCACOV is a Nigeria Police Force Community Policing Initiative and Public Relations Tool which works with different Stakeholders and Multi Agencies by galvanizing their Support and partnership, enhancing participation towards joint problem identification for joint Problem Solving for a safe and peaceful society.
