The Enugu police command have confirmed attack on one of the Divisional headquarters in the state.
Gunmen reportedly attacked the Isi-Uzo Divisional police station in Ikem in the early hours of Tuesday.
The Enugu State Police Public Relations Officer, Daniel Ndukwe while commenting on the incident, said: “Tactical Police Operatives of the Command are on the trail of armed hoodlums, suspected to be members of the outlawed IPOB/ESN group, who in their numbers today, 18/07/2023, at about 4.30am, attempted to attack Isi-Uzo Police Division of the Command, but were repelled by Police Operatives on duty.”
“Many of the miscreants escaped with gunshot wounds, while one (1) of the Operatives who sustained gunshot wound is receiving treatment and in stable condition.
“Further development shall be communicated, please.”
