The Police Campaign Against Cultism And Other Vices (POCACOV) has charged Stakeholders /Volunteers on giving back to the society philosophy in order to help transmit Olympic and National Values to our young minds and which will make them to thrive for a functional Community and greater society .
This was made known by the National Coordinator Police Campaign Against Cultism And Other Vices (POCACOV) CSP Ebere Amaraizu while appreciating the gestures of donation of footballs and Chess boards by stakeholders Obiora, the MD Unlock SoI (learning made simple) and Coach Usman Haruna Ilerika a POCACOV Stakeholder and the Coach of Under 15 and 17 National Team as well as National institute for sports (NIS) instructor.
According to Amaraizu, “we are grateful to these stakeholders for the gestures which will help to impact on our young minds under our children must Thrive program through our POCACOV inspire activities. It is all inculcating Olympic values of Excellence, Respect and Friendship as well as our National Values through the instrumentality of high performance community sports activities which will also build their speed, endurance and Strength and that of strategic and creative thinking which will help to turn them into National Assets and that is one of the principles of PREVENT Policing .
He further added that “giving back to the society philosophy cannot be overmphasized as it also cut across transferring Skills, knowledge from members of the community to our young minds in order to make them thrive for excellence and pointing out that by the Sustainable Development Goals (11 Sustainable Cities and Communities ) (8 Good jobs and Economic Growth ) (5 Gender Equality ) will be attained.
“Giving back to the society entails transferring/sharing skills and knowledge and this make our young minds to imbibe the spirit of Respecting Values, honours, hard work work, integrity, excellence amongst others rather than respect for materialism.”
Amaraizu used the occasion to commend POCACOV Ambassadors Maureen Madu on giving back to the society with Maureen Madu kiddies Football Club for the girl child ,Mutiu Adepoju with laliga for under 15 talent discoveries, Amb Domben Chisom (Gofec) with Neighbourhood football league ( Boolu Ogbe ) ,Pocacov 1 chess board will make a difference amongst others .
Reacting, Coach Usman Haruna Ilerika maintained that POCACOV has been doing wonderfully well in the areas of mobilizing stakeholders and Multi Agencies for the sole purpose of inspiring our young minds for greater excellence which is also helping to divert them from involvement in crime and cultism and also creating life changing opportunities for them to thrive.
“We are all stakeholders of POCACOV supporting this good initiative by the Nigeria police Force in making our young minds to strive for excellence. To me, this is our own way of giving back to our society through our skills and knowledge and we urge all to be part of this noble initiative to keep changing the mindsets and thinking of our young minds .I commend Nigeria police Force on this wonderful initiative of changing mindsets, thinking and action as well as helping to inspire and build practical skills in young minds which will make them to discover the potentials in them as well as to shun crime and cultism.”
He however pledged his further support with his associates at ensuring that a greater number of young minds are inspired through the pocacov high performance community sports activities for excellence .
