The Benue State National Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Makurdi, has declared former Governor Gabriel Suswam of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the winner of the 25 February election for Benue North East Senatorial District.
According to TVC report, Suswam defeated Emmanuel Udende of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the tribunal and was returned on Friday, after a judgement that lasted for over three hours.
In its judgment, the tribunal ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to issue a certificate of return to Suswam.
Suswam, a former governor of Benue State, was a member of the 9th Senate.
