Nigeria’s Supreme Court has said no life was lost in the fire incident which razed a section of its expansive complex located at the Three Arms Zone of Federal Capital Territory, FCT Monday morning.

“Yes, there was a fire that perhaps resulted from an electrical fault in the section of a justice’s chambers of the court. But the fire is not as serious as they make it appear on social media. From what is being said on social media, it is as if someone went there and set the whole Supreme Court on fire; it is not so,” spokesperson for Supreme Court, Festus Akande, was quoted as saying by PREMIUM TIMES

He added that the fire outbreak originated from one of the Chambers of the Justices and was put out with the use of fire extinguishers.

Some reports indicated that the fire incident started around 6 am. and was detected by workers who resumed early for work.

The workers reportedly used the fire extinguishers in the building to combat the fire.
