The government of Enugu State through the ministry of culture and tourism seeks to collaborate with China to augment the film industry, food, arts and traditions.
The partnership aims to make Enugu a tourist destination hub by implementing Cultural and Educational exchange.
This was disclosed by the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hon. Dame Ugochi Madueke in a terse statement issued on Wednesday during a courtesy visit to the Chinese Embassy.
The statement read in part: “The Enugu State Ministry of Culture and Tourism desires to cooperate with you on implementing Cultural and Educational exchange.
“This will deepen and enhance the Enugu State Tourism emphasis on cultural immersion to gain an insight into your lived reality and develop intercultural competence mainly in the film industry, food, arts and traditions.
Currently, China is the world’s largest film market, and there is excellent potential for the film industry in Enugu State.
The commissioner was welcomed by Mr Li Xuda, the Cultural Counsellor Embassy of China at its Abuja office.
Commending the effort of the Governor of Enugu state, Xuda expressed their readiness and willingness to partner with Ndi Enugu.
