The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the February 25 poll, Atiku Abubakar has reacted to the tribunal judgement which sent Nasarawa Governor packing.
The governorship election petition tribunal sitting in Lafia, Nasarawa State, sacked Governor Abdullahi Sule of the All Progressives Congress, APC and declared David Ombugadu, the candidate of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as duly elected.
In a ruling delivered on Monday, two of the justices agreed that the election was won by the PDP while one judge dissented.
In a tweet on his X handle (formerly known as Twitter) congratulated the PDP candidate, stressing that the peoples will.
“My warmest congratulations to Mr David Ombugadu of the PDP, who has been affirmed by the election petition tribunal in Lafia, Nasarawa State, as the duly elected Governor of the state.
“Elections are the cornerstone of democracy, and the people’s will, once determined, should always be upheld.”
