The Nigeria Police Force in its continuous resolute fight against cybercrime and cyber-related offences, has recorded another significant milestone on October 4, 2023 following the arrest of two suspects, Chinonso Eze and Victory Ebomuche, in connection with a case involving criminal conspiracy, identity theft, and computer-related fraud. The suspects, aged 18 and 24 years, respectively, were arrested at their residence in Agua Marina Estate, Apo, FCT Abuja.
This arrest is a testament to the culmination of exhaustive investigative efforts and reflects our staunch commitment to upholding the highest standards of professionalism in combating cybercrime.
Furthermore, our dedicated team of investigators meticulously gathered evidence and conducted comprehensive inquiries, resulting in the apprehension of these suspects. This operation exposed a complex web of cybercriminal activities, primarily revolving around romance scams and fraudulent online investments. Such activities not only exploit individuals but also pose a significant threat to our nation’s cybersecurity. As part of our ongoing efforts, we have identified potential victims associated with the suspects and are actively working to mitigate both immediate and remote cyber threats.
The Inspector General of Police while commending the Director of the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Center, DCP Uche Ifeanyi Henry for the significant successes, underscored the critical importance of vigilance and caution when engaging in online interactions. He urged the global cyber community to verify the authenticity of online acquaintances, exercise discretion in financial engagements, and promptly report any suspicious online activity to the authorities.
The public are hereby reminded of the importance of reporting such activities, suspicions, or any other cybercrime or cyber-related crimes through the Center’s dedicated e-reporting portal at incb.npf.gov.ng or via email at [email protected]. The Nigeria Police Force remains committed to safeguarding our digital environment, and we appreciate the continued support and cooperation of the public in our efforts to combat cybercrime.
Upon the conclusion of the investigation, the suspects will be charged in court.

Kudos to thw Nigerian Police Force for a good job well done and we hope to see more arrest of fraudulent people in future.
However, kindly advise why the man in Abuja who has been identified by csu as a fraud and somebody with huge identity theft issues is still walking large and is untouchable,
Can the Nigerian Armed forces really beat their chest in all honesty and truth with no politicking added to it that they are doing a good job?
With the high Costs of living that now abounds all over the country, can we say we have good leadership in Nigeria.
Why do you guys find it very easy to run after little rats but turn a deafening ear when it gets to the big criminals in position of authority.
I will really love if you can help clarify my doubts or educate me better.
Thank You
