Comrade Churchill Oyovwe, a Deputy Director at the Ministry of Information defeated Comrade Salvation Ogono, another Deputy Director of the Ministry of Information in the election held on Wednesday.
In a congratulatory message signed by Okies Okpomor and Igafe Edeki, the chairman and secretary, respectively, the Chapel said they’ve no doubt that Oyovwe’s victory “coming at this crucial moment that our once enviable Union in the state is yearning for a positive change would definitely reposition it in accordance with our aspiration.
“We are confidence in your team to rewrite the story of the State Council and put it on a better pedestal.
“While praying the Almighty God to grant you the strength and wisdom to discharge your duty effectively, I assure you of our maximum cooperation and support.
“Now that the election has come and gone, it’s time to hit the ground running with you well articulated programmes in the overall interest of all members.
