Justice C.O Ajah, who granted the order, said the plaintiff had satisfied the requirements of the law in bringing the motion. He also compelled the defendants in the suit, who are the PDP National Chairman, national secretary, and deputy national chairman South East, to accept the recommendation pending its judgment.

The court noted that the motion was supported by 23 paragraphs of the affidavit, which the applicant deposed.

The matter has been adjourned till October 30 to continue the hearing.

Recall that the Southeast stakeholders of the PDP in Enugu State recently resolved to support Anyanwu as the party’s governorship candidate in the November 11 election in Imo State and replace him with Sunday Udeh-Okoye as the new national secretary of the party to allow him the time to focus on his campaign and the election.

Anyanwu had remained on his seat as the National Secretary of the PDP even after emerging the party’s governorship flag bearer for Imo State election coming up on November 11, 2023.

The court order declaring his seat vacant has paved the way for Udeh-Okoye nominated by South East PDP stakeholders to step into his seat as the PDP National Secretary.
