Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has reacted to the judgement of the Court of Appeal in Abuja, which affirmed her as the duly elected Senator for Kogi Central Senatorial District.
The judgment, delivered on Tuesday, affirmed the decision of the Kogi State National/State Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal, which had earlier voided the declaration of Abubakar Ohere of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the February 25 election.
In a statement released shortly after the judgment, Akpoti-Uduaghan expressed gratitude to the people of Kogi Central for their support.
“We won. Joy amidst tears. Thank you Kogi Central. This is us together,” she wrote on Facebook.
