A former Niger Delta militant leader, Asari Dokubo, has warned president Bola Tinubu that he’s traveling on dangerous path over his loopsided appointments, stressing that it won’t serve him at the end of the day.
“Ahmed Bola Tinubu is traveling on a very dangerous path, and if he doesn’t correct it and change some of these appointments, even we who re his core supporters won’t be able to stand with him,” Asari said in a recent video posted on social media.
The ex-militant reminded the president he supported vehemently in the February 25th poll that he shouldn’t tow the path of former president because he’s not Mohammadu Buhari who had cult followership.
“If they tell you can do what Buhari did or worse than him, you’re not Buhari no doubt. Buhari had a cult followership which you do not have..
“Those people who are now around, making decisions, making appointments, they were afraid to stand by you. If they were not afraid, they wouldn’t have contested for the House of Reps and so on.
“They actually believed you would not win the election. They were saying that a bird in hand is worth more than thousands in the bush.
“But we staked everything and stood by you. Today you brought them so that they laugh at us. They were afraid to offend people, but today they’re the masters.”
He went on to lament that he and his followers have been abandoned after giving their support to the cause of Tinubu’s emergence as president.
“I heard they’re distributing money to your various support groups, they’ve not given us a dime. Nobody has given us…. We’re the ones contributing. We didn’t take because when you came to aid me, you didn’t ask me to contribute.”
