Security forces have thwarted a Boko Haram attempt to plant an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) near Kudokurgo, southeast of Malam Fatori.
According to the Eons Intelligence X page, the incident occurred on Tuesday, November 21, at noon.
Two terrorists were reportedly neutralized during the engagement, and the troops successfully recovered the unexploded device along with tools used for constructing the IEDs.
Malam-Fatori is the headquarters of Abadam Local Government Area in northern Borno and is yet to be fully reoccupied by residents since Boko Haram violently took over the town around 2014 and forced residents to flee to Niger Republic.
There have been reoccurring fighting in the area, which is near the border with Niger and Chad, between Nigeria security forces and Boko Haram terrorists.
