Rt. Hon. Barr. Chima Obieze has taken oath of office as member of Enugu state House of Assembly representing Ezeagu constituency.
Obieze was sworn in alongside Solomon Onah, member representing Udenu constituency by the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, RT Hon. Uche Ugwu on Wednesday.
The swearing in of the two lawmakers follows the decision of the Court of Appeals which sacked Hon. Jude Udefuna and Obinna Ijere of the Labour Party respectively.
While Udefuna of Ezeagu was sacked for not meeting the minimum requirement stipulated by the constitution, Ijere was sent packing for not resigning his appointment at University of Nigeria Nsukka which is at variance with the provisions of the Electoral act 2022.
