The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Ltd has reacted to reports that the cost of Petroleum Prices in the country could increase to as high as ₦1200 per litre.

A report emerged earlier today that the NNPC Ltd. had a clash with independent marketers in the country over possible increment in price.

However, In a state issued by Chief Corporate Communications Officer NNPC Ltd, Olufemi O. Soneye, the corporation said the report isn’t true while assuring Nigerians that the currently have more than enough and there’s no plan to review the price upwards.

“The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Ltd. assures the public that there is no imminent increase in the cost of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol.

“NNPC Ltd. urges Nigerians to disregard unfounded rumours and assures them that there are no plans for an upward review of the PMS price.

“Motorists nationwide are advised against engaging in panic buying, as there is presently ample availability of PMS across the country.”
