Seven residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) abducted from Sagwari Estate in Bwari Area Council have been released by their abductors.

Gunmen raided the estate located opposite Government Girls Secondary School (GGSS) Dutse, around 8pm penultimate Sunday and abducted 10 residents.

Their abductors gave a deadline for the payment of ransom, and failure of the family to meet their demand led to the killing of one of the victims, Nabeeha Al-Kadriyar.

Other captives murdered were Talatu Salihu, a 400 level student of Library and Information Science, Bayero University Kano (BUK); Akpagher Joseph Terzungwe, and 13-year-old Mitchell Ariyo.

After killing them, the kidnappers raised the ransom of the remaining victims and set a deadline of Wednesday.

A resident who preferred anonymity in the area disclosed that the seven remaining victims, a female hotel receptionist, a mother and her three children, as well as two little children, had been released to their respective family members.

He, however, disclosed that both families have moved away to undisclosed location.

The development comes after the four remaining siblings of late Nabeeha Al-Kadriyah, who was killed in captivity, regained their freedom late Saturday night.

Recall that the Al-Kadriyar sisters were abducted alongside their father early January.

After killing the Nabeeha, the bandits had raised the ransom from N60 million to N100 million, threatening to kill the remaining sisters.
