The Department of State Services (DSS) has denied claims that Bello Bodejo, the president of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, is in their custody.

The clarification was made by DSS spokesperson Peter Afunanya in response to inquiries about Bodejo’s alleged arrest over the unveiling of a vigilante group in Nasarawa state.

“He’s not with the DSS,” Afunanya said.

Bodejo had unveiled a “Nomad vigilante group” aimed at helping security agencies to address criminal activities in the north-central state, comprising 1,144 Fulani youths from different communities across the 13 LGAs.

“Every ethnic group has criminal elements among them, so if a Fulani man or woman commits a crime, he or she should be treated as a criminal just like others and not a Fulani criminal,” Bodejo had said.
