The Chairman of Ikwere local government area, Samuel Nwanosike, has apologised to Nigerians and not to the Governor of Rivers State, Sir. Siminalayi Fubara over his unguided comments.
Journalist101 had reported that Nwanosike while addressing his supporters at Omerelu Community in a a video he posted on his X (formerly twitter) account, said that “Fubara is a foolish Governor, he’s not a ‘mumu’ Governor but a foolish Governor because since he took office in May 29th, he has done nothing for Rivers people.
“Siminalayi Fubara is very naive and doesn’t know what governance is all about. If he knows what governance is all about, by now, he would have been visiting Rivers State local government by local government.
“Go and look at Igirita roundabout by Igirita market by Eleka Road; deathtrap, can’t move. Kidnapping everywhere in Rivers State and you say you’re a Governor.”
But in a recent development, the council boss said that he’s sorry for the way he addressed the Governor because his leader, Nyesom Wike told him that it’s wrong.
“My leader, after my outburst in my last rally at Omerelu, called me to order by saying that it’s wrong for you to speak to a Governor in that manner whether (sic) he’s 18 years old.
“I tender an unreserved apology to the people of Nigeria for speaking in that manner and to say clearly that I regret that action and it’s led by anger.
This is no apology at all. The so called Chairman is yet to come to terms with the fact that he abused and insulted a sitting Governor. He was forced to make this statement because according to him, his leader said it is wrong to talk to a governor like that, no matter his age.
This above statement is even more insulting than the one for which he is trying to apologize.
He must tender an unreserved apology to the people of Rivers State and by extension to the Nigerian citizenry.
