Police Operatives serving in the Central Police Station (CPS) of the Enugu Command, have arrested two males suspected to be responsible for the armed robbery and other crimes going on in Holy Ghost/Railway axis of the state.

The suspects; Monday Igwe aged 25, and Obinna Owoh aged 27, both from Ebonyi State were arrested on January 24, 2024, at about 9 p.m., according to the spokesperson of Enugu Police command, DSP Daniel Ndukwe.

Ndukwe said one locally fabricated cut-to-size gun loaded with a live cartridge recovered from them, adding that “the operational success followed the directive of the Commissioner of Police, CP Kanayo Uzuegbu, psc (+), that operational and investigative activities be strengthened in and around Holy Ghost and the Railway axis of Enugu metropolis.”

He assured that “the suspects shall be arraigned in court and prosecuted once investigations are concluded.

“The Commissioner reiterates that the ongoing strengthened policing activities shall be sustained until the area is totally rid of all acts of crime and criminality. He, therefore, enjoins the citizens to continue to support the Police as they frontally combat and flush unrepentant criminals and their activities out of Enugu State.”
