The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has denied the man caught with a pre-filled result sheets during the re-run election for Igboeze Nort/Udenu federal constituency election in Enugu.
According to a video which went viral on social media, the man who identified himself as Mr. Ronald Ugwudani from Igboetiti LGA said the pre-filled result sheet was given to him from the local government by INEC.
But in a terse statement via it’s X (formerly twitter) account, the electoral umpire said the man is unknown to the commission as he’s not their employee and described the report as “fake”.
“Our attention has been drawn to some fake narratives circulating on the social media that a certain employee of the Commission was caught in Enugu State with a pre-filled result sheet for the rerun election held today.
“However, the said individual is not an employee of INEC. He is unknown to the Commission. The public should disregard the report.”
