Access Bank Plc has reacted to reports of death of its Chief Executive Officer, Herbert Wigwe, in a helicopter crash in California, USA on Friday night.

Report emerged on Saturday of how the Co-founder of Access Bank alongside his wife, Chizoba, son and lawyer, Abimbola Ogunbanjo died in a ghastly helicopter crash on Friday.

The report said his chopper was headed to Las Vegas when it crashed near a border city between Nevada and California around 10:12pm local time on Friday night.

The US government confirmed all on board dead as no survivor has been located as of Saturday morning.

But in an ‘IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT’ posted on their X account, the bank said they don’t have specific information on the report yet, promising to make same available when they have it.

“We have received numerous inquiries concerning an airplane crash in the USA.

“Presently, we lack specific information; however, we are actively collaborating with US authorities who will furnish updates.

“Your understanding and support are valued, and we commit to keeping you informed promptly as we receive updates on the situation,” the announcement reads.
