The first lady of Osun State, Erelu Ngozi Adeleke over the week, launched a skill acquisition programme for empowering women and youths of the state.

The programme which is powered by Esther Adeleke Humanitarian Foundation, Empowerment and Skill Acquisition Programme the First Lady said is aimed at unlocking abundantly, the potentials and opportunities embedded in skill acquisition programme as a means of empowering youths and women.

According to her, “the multifaceted initiative is a product of Esther Adeleke Humanitarian Foundation, Empowerment and Skill Acquisition Programme targeted at aiding the interest of trainees on beauty, cosmetology and hair dressing.”

The First Lady also seized the opportunity to salute the efforts of Osun people in offering her husband, Governor Ademola Adeleke, a sound and productive support while assuring them that the Governor will not tarry in providing social intervention and succours aimed at alleviating their plights.

“Empowerment of our youths and women through skill acquisition programme which is just one out of the many empowerment activities of the foundation such as computer literacy, soap making, etc.”

In her remarks, the mother of the day, Chief Mrs. Modupe Adeleke used the occasion to eulogise the First Lady for floating such a lofty programme and called on Nigerian youths to prioritise skill acquisition programme and encouraged the participants to take the training seriously not minding their educational qualifications.

According to her, “my make-up artist is a graduate thus, you can’t say the training isn’t for you because you’re learned.”

In their separate goodwill messages, the wife of the Deputy Governor, Dr. Mrs. Olusola Adewusi; wife of the Speaker, Princess Mosurat Egbedun; commissioner for Education, Hon. Dipo Eruwale and permanent secretary, Ministry of women, children and social affairs, Mrs. Abimbola Babatunde, commended wife of the Governor for organising such a laudable programme.

The Royal Fathers present at the event; Oba Michael Ajayi and Oba Akin Ogungbanpe jointly lauded the Osun First Lady for designing what they described as “a futuristic and benevolence programme.”

Some of the beneficiaries that spoke at the event appreciated Ngozi Erelu Adeleke for offering them such a life chancing opportunity and assured her they will make optimal use of the training.
