The visit by Dr Ejikeme Odumegwu to former governor of Enugu State, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has unfortunately been misrepresented, according to one of the persons present at the meeting.
The source who doesn’t want to be named told our correspondent that he feels so sad that Dr. Odumegwu could be so mischievous to misrepresent the harmless, innocent disposition of the former governor.
“At no time in that meeting did former governor Ugwuanyi say what has been presented in the media. I feel so embarrassed being involved in such a visit and a man like Dr. Odumegwu will want to play politics with it.
“To put it in proper perspective, Odumegwu went cap in hands to seek Ugwuanyi’s help in his political ambition pleading with him to put in good words for him.
“We didn’t go there as a youth body or movement, so what would warrant such advice as Odumegwu made the media to report?” He asked.
Speaking further, he noted that non of them in the contingent knew that pressmen was with them as such wasn’t mentioned to them and they didn’t even see any need to that, adding that “this is to say the least, abuse of privilege and treacherous act by Odumegwu to promote his political ambition.”
He called on the general public to disregard the report as the handiwork of a political desperado who wants to use any opportunity to advance his political ambition.
Efforts to reach Odumegwu for clarification on his claim hasn’t yileded any result as the time of this report.
