The Enugu State Commissioner for Environment and Climate Change, Prof Sam C. Ugwu has congratulated Peter Mbah over his award as ‘The Sun Governor Of The Year’ by the publishers of Sun Newspaper.
In a statement made available to Journalist101, Prof Ugwu said Governor Mbah’s exceptional leadership, dedication, and tireless efforts have not only earned him the prestigious recognition but have also greatly uplifted their spirit to work harder under his leadership.

“It is on record that under the watch of His Excellency, the fight against insecurity has been sustained, there’s massive infrastructural projects in the state; including over 81 roads, the ongoing construction of 260 Type-2 Primary Healthcare Centers as well as the education sector where His Excellency committed an unprecedented 33 percent of the state’s 2024 budget and is equally building 260 smart schools across the electoral wards in our state.
“To save our environment from the actions of unauthorized authorities, the Governor declared war on illegal miners. This has helped in no small way in ridding our environment of pollution from unwholesome practice.
“Under the current administration, waste management isn’t handled with kids gloves and this has reflected in the removal of wastes from our streets while the official monthly sanitation is back in Enugu state.
