The Nigeria Customs Services, NCS, has disclosed plans to reopen the Nigeria-Niger Republic border.
This was disclosed by the NCS Area Comptroller of the Sokoto/Zamfara Area Command, Comptroller Kamal Mohammed during a working visit to Illela border Station.
Mohammed assured stakeholders at the Illela border that all is set for the reopening of the border pending the last order from higher authorities.
According to him, the lifting of ECOWAS sanctions on Niger Republic and subsequent restoration of power supply to the country warrants the reopening of the border.
The Comptroller urged members of the border community to remain calm and continue to be law-abiding as all government policies are aimed at improving the well-being of the citizens.
