A former member of the House of the Representatives, Stainless Nwodo, who recently dumped the Labour Party for the Peoples Democratic Party, has revealed the reasons he ditched the LP for the PDP.

In a statement made available to JOURNALIST101, Hon. Nwodo said he decided to pitch tent with the PDP because he’s a “progressive and selfless politician” and the “development trajectory of Enugu State under the leadership of Gov. Peter Mbah,” has made it impossible for him not to join the governor to move the state forward.

The statement reads:

“Recall that What brought me into politics in the first place was my desire to make positive impacts in the lives of people and to contribute my quota to the overall development and sustainable quality livelihood of my people and ndi Enugu at large.

“Some of our former leaders has made leadership to appear as a rocket science. The little time I spent in the National Assembly has opened my eyes and all my followers can attest that I gave the speaker of the house of representatives my maximum and unalloyed support due to his sterling leadership qualities which was brought to bear in achieving a rancor free 10th Assembly.

“As a progressive and selfless politician, I consulted with some of my friends and political mentors they discouraged me from joining PDP.

“However, looking at the development trajectory of Enugu State under the leadership of Gov. Peter Mbah and in consideration of all the support I enjoyed from him while in the house of reps, it’s only natural of me to join hands with him to move the State forward.

“His Excellency Governor Peter Mbah has demystified governance and leadership in Enugu State to the extent that even the blind can feel it.

“He deserves the support of all of us because Enugu is our State and we all have responsibility in building the Enugu State of our dream. I have no doubt that with Gov. Peter Mbah as our governor for the next Eight years, the issues of insecurity, Maternal mortality, job creation and market access and other development index will be a thing of the past.

“This is why I call on all well meaning ndi Enugu, my supporters and followers to join hands with me to support the governor to move Enugu forward.

“I therefore plead with my other colleagues, friends and associates to see reasons for my decision.

Long Live His Excellency Gov. Peter Mbah, long Live Enugu State. Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
