“Mummy where is dad?”

The kids asked for the uncountable times today as attempts to answer were filled with tears and Mrs Rose Emmanuel’s agonizing heart tearing apart in sorrow, anguish anger, pains and the unpronounced, “God why” over the unprovoked wasting of one more innocent life, by the trigger happy criminals on official uniform.

Sounds like what you watched in a horror movie, looks like a story coming out of war torn RWANDA, that’s if you still live with the imagination that Nigeria is a normal society. These are stories you get at lawless societies where War Lords takes over some sections to run. South East streets are controlled by war lords. The kidnappers, the criminals, the politicians and the DPO and his gang members.

NIGERIA is a horrible horror in live in motion movie that one section of some agitators kicking in peaceful protest to exist, tagged ZOO. They made a mistake, in ZOO there’s law and order and the beasts are cage and under control. They mistaken animals in an organized set up to animals in a jungle. Am I tagging here a jungle? You’re permitted to be the judge. I digress.

They checked his papers, checked his driving license and seized it, after finding every document to be in order. They wasted over 45 Minutes in their anger that his documents were in order, as it didn’t give them room to ask for tips. In the jungle, it’s unlawful to be lawful. Then, they gave him back his documents and asked for roger, “after wasting my time” he said aloud. Angered by his response, the police standing close pulled his trigger and pumped pilates into his rips. Criminals k!ll when they ask for money and you refused to give. What’s the difference? Uniform.

That was how another innocent soul was added to the growing mountain of lives cut short at prime, young girls turned to widows, aged parents turned childless, mothers in tears and eternal sorrow bury their children that were supposed to bury them, kids crying and asking their agnostic, agonizing mothers about their father. Daily the list is growing and the culprits go free, you see why they’re so energized?

The Nigerian Police Force list of innocent children denied their daily bread, butter and tea from their dad just increased yesterday. That’s how a police officer increased the number of Nigerian school dropouts. Invited sorrow, anger, frustrations to once joyful and peaceful homes. Who will these kids run to every evening to welcome and be carried up. Saddest part is, they don’t even have the capacity to comprehend and understand what happened. Their expectation that Dad is coming home will fade with time. Gun was handed to an animal to guide humanity. Our error. Errors are made to be corrected.

When Emmanuel Nwaoke Okocha woke up from the second surgery, in an attempt to save his life, he asked about his kids. That was the thing most important to him and that was his last word before he died. Oh! How he loved his kids, opss! I am in tears. Please give me a break my heart bleeds, let me stop being a strong man, let me shed tears, l will be back…

All because we handed a guns to some criminals

All because we handed guns to some drug addicts

All, most especially, because, they have been

K!11ing innocent Nigerians and go scot free.

All because life has become so valueless in Nigeria, just like in the jungle, just like a society at war. All because, the value for life has been so demeaned in Nigeria, that was why Emma was shot by the policemen on illegal checkpoint on Wednesday, that’s why on Thursday, being the next day, the same police officers were back at the exact spot, looking for the next unfortunate victim that will not give them bribe, so that like they threaten and boast, “l will shot you and nothing will happen”.

In truth, from the streets of Owerri to the Highway of Onitsha, Nnewi, Enugu-Aba-Express, from the Awolowo Road Ikenne, down to the Constitutional Crescent in Aba, where few years back the police shot my uncle Anya Oruada to Thomas Lawson Surulere, the Nigerian Police Force members has been k!11ing innocent Nigerians and nothing happened.

Remember, that’s what prompted the SARS riots where opportunity was simply given to them to k!11 us the more.

No! I didn’t forget my headline, if l deal with early some of you will stop reading. I am a professional writer, l know contrary to the opinion out there, you want to know why l lay what looks like a false allegation on the DPO. It’s not false though, he didn’t pull the trigger directly, but he did indirectly because he’s the head of the gang that did. He’s the war lord in charge that his boys come back to give accounts of funds forcefully stolen from innocent Nigerians at gun point. He’s the head of the gang that has been rampaging the society simply because they were in official uniform.

Cases like this will continue until we learn to punish those who send them to go and put illegal road blocks and give them daily targets of money to return. This not just a matter of the culprit alone. The police hierarchy in the Division must have a case to answer. These DPOs cannot continue to feign ignorance of these extortion and other excesses of the policemen they send to the streets to make returns for them by making life hellish for Nigerians. You cannot see this in northern Nigeria though, they will set everywhere ablaze. Some Nigerian police officers are terrorists.

These is why Nigerians continue to h@te and dislike the Nigerian Police, this is one of the reasons the Nigerian people see the Police and NEPA as enemies. This is big minus to the image of the police. This was one of the reasons why the people stormed the streets a few years back and started

k!11ing police officers and burning police stations. If criminal activities like this by Nigerian police officers continue to go unpunished, it goes a long way to justify the actions of those street protest that went out of hand. Nigerian police officers are its own worst enemy. Redeem your image, arrest the DPO and his gang members and use them to set an example.

Not just the guy that pulled the trigger, those his gang members and the DPO must be brought to book. The k!,ll!ing of innocent Igbos, the k!ll!ng of innocent Nigerians by the Nigerian Police has gotten out of hand. We can no longer sit back and wait for whose turn it is to become a victim, for all of us the living are the real casualties.

My heart bleeds, who will console Emmanuel’s widowed mother? Who will console his young widow wife. Who will answer these two lovely kids and explain to them to understand the dad isn’t coming back, ever.

My heart bleeds.
